Vidya Mandir
Iti Colony, Doorvaninagar, Bangalore, Karnataka Vidya Mandir is a school run by the management of ITI (Indian Telephone Industries). It is situated in ITI colony in Doorvaninagar. As ITI colony has 1 Cricket Ground, 1 Football ground , a Hockey Ground, A basket ball ground, etc, the students of V idya Mandir are luckey to have easy acces to these grounds. Most of the other schools do not have this kind of facilities. The school had the State syllabus for the curriculam earlier. But recently they have included the CBSE syllabus too (Forming another school named ITI central school making use of the samee building). It was a great experience going through for Kindergarden to the SSLC in this school. There is the ITI cinema Theatre in the same compound as the school. And English movies were played every Thursday. The timing was at 3:30 pm. And whoever had their classroom close to the theatre could hear the dialoges from inside the theatre and could watch the crowd buying tickets fromt he classroom window. We also had an ITI park. Where most of the drawing competitions were held. It was a good park with a few parrots and rabbits and a few other birds. I remember to have seen an OWL in one of the cages. It had peacockes too. But now i do not think any of these are there. The students of this school were mostly from in and oaround ITI colony including Ramamurthynagar, KR Puram, BNarayapura etc. Most of them being the children of the ITI employees.
